Artist Angela Mathis has created upholstery made from fragments of paper currency from several countries. Destroying money is a crime (and that is not a metaphore) but this artist has used decommissioned notes which were no longer suitable for their use. In addition she was in partnership with the UK National Bank, because they had commissioned her an artistic project.
